Polyphonic multi-channel video installation

Accessing Utopia is based on interviews with young activists involved in anti-racist and social-justice organisations in Sweden. The project examines how political commitments are formed through lived experience, collective organisation and disagreement. It asks what utopia can mean when it is articulated from within unequal social conditions rather than imagined as a distant, complete future.
The interviews are organised as a multi-channel video installation. No participant is made to represent a generation, movement or political position as a whole. Voices meet, overlap and sometimes remain in tension. This structure keeps the complexity of political subjectivity visible and allows activism to appear as an ongoing practice rather than a unified identity.
The collaboration combines artistic research with sociological inquiry. The work attends to how racism and social injustice are understood by people acting against them, while resisting the temptation to turn their accounts into a single explanatory narrative.
The work is held in the collection of Botkyrka Municipality.
